What Is Core Formation?

Core Formation (结丹, jiédān) is the process of condensing spiritual energy into a solid core. It’s a major milestone in cultivation:

• Qi becomes solid, not just condensed
• A power core forms in the dantian
• Marks the transition from beginner to intermediate cultivator
• Enables powerful techniques and longer lifespan

Two Main Types

1. Golden Core (金丹)

The most common and stable form:

• Golden colored core
• Balanced energy
• Standard advancement path
• Most cultivators aim for this
